The Global Initiative to Speed the Delivery of Therapies for FSHD

A Season of Impact, Unity, and Global Momentum

Post: A Season of Impact, Unity, and Global Momentum

The 2025 Walk & Roll season is officially underway — and it’s already proving to be one of the most inspiring yet. Across North America, communities are coming together to raise awareness, build connection, and drive progress toward a future free from facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD).

From coast to coast, teams are forming, stories are being shared, and the energy is palpable. These events are more than just fundraisers — they are powerful expressions of solidarity and purpose. Whether participants are walking, rolling, cheering, or volunteering, each person plays a vital role in amplifying the voice of the FSHD community.

At Project Mercury, we see these local efforts as essential building blocks in a global movement. The Walk & Roll campaign exemplifies what happens when advocacy meets action — and when communities mobilize around a shared mission. It’s this kind of momentum that fuels our work to align international stakeholders, accelerate treatment readiness, and ensure equitable access to care.

We’re especially inspired by the creativity and commitment of the volunteers and organizers behind each Walk & Roll event. Their leadership is helping to shape a future where no one faces FSHD alone — and where every region is prepared to support emerging therapies.

We encourage everyone in the Project Mercury network to support, share, and celebrate these efforts — because every step forward, no matter how it’s taken, brings us closer to a world with better care, better treatments, and better lives.

Together, we are building readiness — one community at a time.
